Prospect Watch!

Posted by collegesummerball on April 2, 2007

Some of you know that I also run 316sports Autographs. I have been collecting autographs for many years now. I especially enjoy getting “prospects” autographs.

This next prospect is not only a great player, but he’s a great kid as well. He graciously signed several cards and pictures for my son and I.

Aaron Miller (Baylor) will delight fans of the Chatham A’s (CCL) next summer. Aaron is having an outstanding freshman year for the Baylor Bears. He is currently hitting .320, and has driven in 26 runners. He was drafted by the Rockies in the 11th round last season. He was rated by many services as one of the best freshman in college baseball.

Stark County Terriers Roster is out!

Posted by collegesummerball on April 2, 2007

The 2007 roster for the Stark County Terriers (Great Lakes League) is out. There are quite a few freshman on the team. A couple names are intriguing to me.

-Vince Chiera from Akron

-Joel Ernst from Wake Forest

-Brian Tallerico from Fordham

Chiera is a junior off to a hot start, while Ernst and Tallerico are promising freshman that are getting valuable playing time.

Summer Leaguers in the Pros!

Posted by collegesummerball on April 2, 2007

Lance Berkman is one of the most underrated all-stars in the game today. He consistently puts up great numbers without a lot of fanfare. His summer ball route took him to play for the Hays Larks in 1995. Later that summer, he was named the MVP of the NBC World Series.

Lance put up great numbers while playing for the Rice Owls. He was eventually drafted in the 1st round by the Houston Astros in 1997. He is also a 4 time all-star.
