The Vermont Mountaineers of the New England Collegiate Baseball League had an outstanding season last year. Their season culminated in them bringing the NECBL title to Montpelier, VT. A key component in their championship season will be returning for his second go around with the Mountaineers.
A.J. Balsinde is expected to be one of the top pitchers for Vermont this season. The 6-2 sophomore is the closer for the Maine Black Bears. A.J. was named to the America East All-Tournament team last season. Currently, A.J. is 1-3 with a 3.86 ERA. He leads the team with 3 saves this season.

One of the great things about living in Texas is the abundance of good quality college baseball in the state. From your DI powerhouses like UT and Rice down to your JUCO schools like Navarro College and Grayson CC, there are a lot of great players in the state. This often makes it very difficult for me to keep track of all the prospects in the state, but after seeing the Texas State Bobcats play, I think I’ve found one. And the best thing is that he will be playing his summer ball for the Mineral Wells Steam of the Texas Collegiate League.
Adam Witek is a sophomore infielder for the Texas State Bobcats. He was a standout high school player at Clemens H.S. in San Antonio. Adam is currently hitting .328 while driving in 18 runs. The speedy infielder has stolen 20 of 22 bases and has played solid defense for coach Ty Harrington’s club
