The Brainerd Blue Thunder of The Northwoods League have their 07 roster out now.
It’s great to see that Andy Dirks (Wichita State) will return for his second season with the Thunder. He had an outstanding year last season, and is following it up with a solid season for the Shockers.

I am a firm believer that every summer league will have it’s share of prospects to look for. Some more than others, but as the quality of college baseball increases, so does the quality of the collegiate baseball summer leagues. Besides just watching baseball, I love to try to find the prospect in the “rough.”
The Brockport Riverbats of the New York Collegiate Baseball League will have several prospects playing for them this summer. Right now, I am focusing on Adam Brown of Ithaca College. Adam led all freshman pitchers on the team with 5 wins last season. For this season, Adam is sporting a 4-2 record with a 3.48 ERA. The 6-5/200 sophomore from Rochester has pitched in 33 innings this season.
The Riverbats open their 07 season against the Webster Yankees on June 7.

This is not really related to summer ball, but it’s very important for the future of college baseball. The NCAA Division I board of directors officially approved of legislation that would now force all college baseball transfers to sit out one year. College baseball now joins the ranks with college football and basketball in regards to this rule.
How do I feel about this. I really am not sure. I would like to see your opinions or reactions to this. I really feel that this will seriously impact how schools will recruit now. Overall, I feel that this was a poor decision by the NCAA.
Read a great article about this from Rivals.
