M.I.N.K. Prospect With Ties To The TCL!

Posted by collegesummerball on April 29, 2007

Watching the Denton Outlaws of the TCL last season was an interesting expierence for me. They played just down the road from my house, so it was nice not having to drive to far. But, as a fan it was difficult for me to watch them play. I enjoy watching games when there are fans in the seats, and I understand that one of the main issues with many summer league teams is just how to draw in more fans, but the Outlaws just were not very successful in bringing in the fans last summer. I am sure hoping that the move to a better facility this summer will fill the stands.
One of the good things about last season as an Outlaws fan was watching the play of Craig Corriston. He played solid defense and was an offensive sparkplug last season. He was very kind to my son and I when we asked him for his autograph, which is a plus in our book.

Craig was a star at Paris JC in Texas. This is his first season as a Cornhusker, and he is not disappointing the fans in Lincoln. He is currently batting .313/.479/.363. He has 5 homers and 31 RBI’s. Craig has signed on to play his 07 summer ball for the Beatrice Bruins of the M.I.N.K. league. I know that he won’t dissapoint the fans this summer.

Mountain Collegiate League Prospect To Watch For!

Posted by collegesummerball on April 29, 2007

When I started this blog, I was pretty familiar with most of the collegiate summer leagues out there, (or so I thought). I have received several emails regarding the Mountain Collegiate Baseball League. This five team league is growing and has plans for expansion.

There is one prospect that is set to play for the Laramie Colts this summer. Delta State’s Devin Goodwin is a two way star for the Statesman. He is an outstanding sophomore outfielder on the baseball team, and he is a great backup QB for the football team. Devin hails from Demopolis, AL where he excelled in both sports. Currently, Devin’s numbers are very impressive. He is /361/.508/.411 on the season. He also has 4 homers and has driven in 45 runners. He has also collected 2 Gulf South Conference Player of the Week awards.
